The ever-improving Port Mourant Turf Club recorded a major win against powerhouse team Albion Cricket Club in a thrilling Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) First Division fixture at the weekend.
Playing at Albion, the home team posted 162 all out in 33.5 overs after opting to bat first. Afrizal Kadir led Albion’s batting with a well-played 60, while former National player Jonathan Foo hit 51.
The Port Mourant bowling attack was led by a top spell from Balram Chappelle, who produced an outstanding performance with the ball claiming a five-wicket haul.
In his six overs, he claimed 5-26. Paul Tyndall had 2-24, and Dimitri Cameron had 2-56.
Port Mourant replied with 164-6 from 42.2 overs, claiming a famous four-wicket win.
Romeo Deonarain stood tall for his unbeaten 68, while the big fast-bowler Dimitri Cameron supported with 39 not out. Feaz Baksh had 3-50 in a losing cause.
