Ramps Logistics/El Dorado Off Shore to conclude cricket camp today

Ramps Logistics/El Dorado Off Shore will be officially closing its second annual cricket camp, held at the Everest Cricket Club, today from 11:00 hrs. Some 100 children from different orphanages in Guyana had participated in the camp.
In an interview with Guyana Times Sport, Ewan Shanks, Client Services Manager at Eldorado Offshore/Ramps Logistics, said, “We have 100 children from four different orphanages; namely, the Sophia Care Centre, Shaheed Boys’ Orphanage, St. Ann’s Girls Home, and Joshua House, who accepted our invitation to join the camp this year.

“This event means a lot to our company. It is an annual event, and it is our way of giving back to the community.”
During the five-day camp, the children learned the basics of bowling and batting from coaches Darien Best, Leon Johnson, Veerasammy Permaul and Vishaul Singh. Activities were led by head coach Steven Jacobs. Children between 7 and 13 years old were taught how to improve their discipline, teamwork, patience, skills and tactics.
