Riddim Squad rally to sink Ordis 4-2 as Camptown, Eastveldt share spoils
The NALICO/NAFICO-sponsored Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Senior Men’s Knockout tournament got underway on Sunday evening at the Plaisance Community Ground, with Riddim Squad FC producing a strong second-half comeback to defeat Ordis FC 4-2, while reigning league champions Camptown FC fought back to earn a 1-1 draw with Eastveldt FC.

In the Group A opening fixture, Camptown and Eastveldt battled to a scoreless first half, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock. Eastveldt eventually took control in the 68th minute when Akeem Farley found the back of the net to give his side the lead. However, Camptown responded with experience and composure, as Marlon Bethel netted in the 80th minute to secure a share of the points. Neither side was able to find a winner in the closing stages, and the contest ended level.

The Group B encounter between Riddim Squad and Ordis delivered a more eventful contest, featuring six goals and a dramatic momentum shift. Ordis started brightly, taking the lead in the sixth minute through Ken Wilson before Orin Singh doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute. Riddim Squad pulled one back before halftime through Kelvin Gordon in the 37th minute to trail 2-1 at the break.
Riddim Squad resumed strongly in the second half, with Demani Cort equalising just two minutes after the restart. Ordis’ challenge was further complicated in the 55th minute when Leyland Joseph was shown a straight red card, reducing his team to 10 players. Riddim Squad capitalised on the numerical advantage, as Seon Grant gave them the lead in the 70th minute before Gordon completed his brace five minutes later to seal the result.

The tournament continues today, Tuesday, April 28, at the same venue, with Beacons FC set to oppose North Stars FC in a Group C fixture from 19:00h, followed by a Group D clash between Black Pearl FC and Vengy FC.
Group A features Camptown, Eastveldt and Northern Rangers, while Group B is made up of Riddim Squad, Ordis and Genesis FC. Group C comprises Beacons FC, North Stars and Motherland, and Group D consists of Black Pearl, Vengy and Pele FC.
