Rising Stars SC give back to Essequibo Coast

Rising Stars Sport Club (Rising Stars SC) located at Good Hope/Pomona on the Essequibo Coast recently repainted several pedestrians crossing within the Neighborhood of Good Hope and Pomona in Region Two. It was part of the club’s community service project aimed at giving back to the society.
Eight pedestrian crossings were repainted within the area starting from Pomona Secondary, Huist Dieren Primary and Nursery, Hibernia Nursery, Aurora Primary and Nursery, Good Hope Primary and Nursery.

According to Secretary of the Club, Andy Ramnarine, youths are the future of Guyana and such safer road ways are required. Giving an overview of the club, Ramnarine said it is in existence for more than 50 years and is very vibrant.
It is managed by an Executive which is headed by the President Jeremiah Latchman. The club over the years has executed many community projects that benefited a wide cross section of the communities ranging from the youths to the elders.
“Painting of the pedestrian crossing within the Good Hope Pomona NDC is an annual project which is done before the reopening of school,” Ramnarine said.
The project received full assistance from by traffic ranks from ‘G’ Division of the Guyana Police Force. The officers assisted were Lance Corporal Mike D’Andrade, Constable Andrew Ramkissoon and Constable Clarence Haywood.
Ramnarine said the executives would like to extend gratitude to all those who made the project possible.
