Stalemates from top seeds

Not much of an exciting weekend of football as the top runners of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League III battled to stalemates which saw little statistics being affected on the points table.
On Saturday, Cougars defeated New Amsterdam United 2 – 0 while in a strange turn of events, Milerock was gifted a walkover victory compliments of Ann’s Grove who currently sit in the cellar position.
Cougars and NA United played to a goalless first half then Devon James scored in the 60th minute to put his side ahead.
It was made a two-possession game in the 4th minute of Injuries and stoppages time as Dane Johnson found the back of the net.
Cougars have now won their first match and are on the table with three points while NA United, sit above them with only superior goal difference.
Milerock’s walkover victory gained them three welcomed points as they moved on to nine and sit in seventh position behind Buxton United (10 points).
On Sunday it was a double header of see-saw shifting matches that saw all four team come away with a point each.
Tournament leaders Western Tigers played to a nil all draw with fifth place Victoria Kings while defending Champions GDF romped to an identical draw with second place holders Fruta Conquerors
