A 16-year-old boy was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday morning to answer to two charges.
The first charge alleged that on New Year’s Day, he broke and entered the home of the Virtual Complainant (VC), Towana Amon, and stole items amounting to $130,000.
The other charge alleged that on the same day, at the same location, he had in his possession a 1.38 Taurus revolver without being the holder of a firearm licence.
The defendant pleaded guilty to being in possession of the firearm but denied that he entered the VC’s home.
The teenager was sent back to prison. He is expected to return to court on January 16 for sentencing for the firearm possession charge and will also be called to answer to the second offence.
