The home of 19-year-old Trelecia Johnson was discovered burglarised on Thursday after she returned home from work.
The teen, who is now counting her losses, told investigators that the bandits allegedly broke into her Lot 128 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) home and carted off with her television set among other items.
Guyana Times understands that on the day in question, the teen secured her home and left for work at about 07:00h. However, when she returned home at about 22:00h, she immediately noticed something was amiss since the lights to her home were missing.
Upon further investigation, the teen found the main door to her house open.
As Johnson entered the apartment, she found that the house was ransacked. While looking around, Johnson discovered that her television that was mounted on the wall was missing.
Following the discovery, the matter was reported to the Police and an investigation was launched.
Just recently an 18-year-old was relieved of his mobile phone by two armed men at Fox Hill Foot, Half Mile Wismar, Linden.
It was reported that a friend of the victim was also injured during the robbery. According to information received, the teenager of Valley Wismar, Linden, was sitting at the corner of Fox Hill Foot with his friend when the two gunmen approached them and instructed them to remain silent.
The young man was reportedly relieved of his cellular phone. Upon seeing this, the young man’s friend threw his phone into a neighbouring yard. Consequently, one of the armed men dealt him several lashes with the gun to his back, resulting in him sustaining injuries. The bandits made good their escape on foot.
