Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican will captain a 13-member West Indies Select XI in a four-day warm-up match against Pakistan from July 18 to 21 at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago.
The squad includes Test players Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva, Kavem Hodge and Anderson Phillip, along with several players who featured in the recent West Indies Championship.
Rayad Emrit has been appointed head coach of the team, which is drawn primarily from the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force squad that won the regional first-class championship.
Chanderpaul, Cephas Cooper, Jyd Goolie, Mbeki Joseph and Ryan Bandoo are among the batting options selected for the match, while Da Silva is expected to provide experience in the middle order and behind the stumps.
Warrican will lead a bowling group that also includes Terrance Hinds, Joshua James, Phillip, Ojay Shields and Nial Smith.
The match will provide Pakistan with preparation for their upcoming international assignments in the Caribbean while giving the selected West Indian players an opportunity to test themselves against international opposition.
