Three accused were separately arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Friday to answer respective charges of drug trafficking, unlawful wounding, and break and enter and larceny.
Regan Binning, called ‘Igon’, a 45-year-old labourer of Lot 801 Determa Street Mackenzie, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) pleaded not guilty to the charge of drug trafficking and was placed on $75,000 bail. His next court date is September 10.
49-year-old Ramjid Persaud of Bamia on the Linden-Soesdyke highway pleaded not guilty to the unlawful wounding charge, the virtual complainant of which is Roger Savory. Persaud has been remanded to prison until August 30.
And Devon Higgins, a 37-year-old labourer of Lot 75 Canvas City Wismar, Linden, has been remanded to prison on the break and enter and larceny charge, which he has denied. His next court date is August 26. (G1)
