Alabama Trading donates team benches to Petra Organisation

The Petra organization continues to enhance the football aura of the Ministry of Education Ground through meaningful partnerships with corporate Guyana.

Little Winner Phillips officially hands over the team benches on his father’s behalf to Troy Mendonca in the presence of Mark Alleyne and Lawrence ‘Sparrow’ Griffith

The organization’s most recent addition to the ground is a fleet of team and referees’ benches, obtained through a donation from the Alabama Trading. The official handover of these benches was made on Thursday afternoon at the Carifesta Avenue venue, although the benches have already been tested during the ongoing Milo Under-18 Schools Football Tournament.
“Alabama is pleased to be associated with the enhancement of football. Giving back is one of the hallmarks of Alabama Trading, and as a former footballer myself, it’s good to know the football standard will be raised in some way or the other with this,” Proprietor of Alabama Trading, Wooed Phillips, said about this donation.
Delighted at the donation, Petra Co-Director Troy Mendonca expressed heartfelt gratitude to Phillips and Alabama Trading. He highlighted the positive impact the donation would have on the game, and said:
“On behalf of Petra and the entire football fraternity, we want to thank you for such a valuable donation to the Petra organization. I just want to let you know that a gesture like this adds value and capacity building to the organization, and allows us to present our tournaments in a better manner, (which) aids in the development of the sport.”
