Ex-cop, 2 others charged for firing shots at Police
The three occupants of a car that Police ranks recently gave chase and caught at Houston, Greater Georgetown, when ex-cop Teon Allen, known as “Spoil child”, was shot after pointing a gun to Police, were jointly charged on Wednesday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

Twenty-six-year old Jason Gonsalves of Kitty, Georgetown and 24-year-old Shaquille Grant of Sophia, Greater Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied the joint charges. Allen, who was charged in absentia, is a patient at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he is being treated for a gunshot wound.
The prosecution is contending that on November 26, 2019, at Houston, the three men had a 9MM pistol along with 16 matching rounds and seven .45 ammunition in their possession when they are not holders of firearm licences.

Another charge stated that the trio discharged a loaded firearm at Police Inspector Mohan Khan. Gonsalves and Grant were represented by Attorney-at-Law Ronald Daniels, who told the court during a successful bail application that his clients were mere occupants in the taxi that was driven by Allen.
He further stressed that his clients were taken into custody since November 26 and have been cooperating with the investigation.
Police Prosecutor Ceon Blackman told the court that on the day in question, the Police were conducting a roadblock exercise after receiving certain information.

The court heard that Allen allegedly drove his car through the roadblock, which resulted in the Police giving chase. Realising that the Police were in pursuit, shots were fired in the direction of the ranks.
The Prosecutor stated that the Police then returned fire and Allen was shot during the exchange. The car then sped off the road and ended up crashing into a nearby trench.
The ranks then approached the vehicle and Allen allegedly had the firearm in his hands. Hence, the men were arrested and taken into custody. The two men were released on $240,000 bail each and the case will continue on January 8, 2020.
