Family seeks public assistance to locate missing Essequibo miner
A 28-year-old miner from Aurora Estate, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), has reportedly been missing for the past nine months after leaving for the interior.
Doodnauth Mohanlall reportedly left home in the company of another miner for a location but has not been heard from or seen since.
His sister, Seeromanie Narace, told Guyana Times that they were informed about two weeks ago that her brother stayed in the interior to work in a mining pit with another colleague.
“The boss man tell us that he gone with another man to move his drudge and don’t want to tell us where and who he gone with… We are worried cause we don’t know if anything is wrong with him in there and for nine months, he didn’t call us saying if he is okay self,” the sister explained.
According to the woman, the family is hoping and praying that he is alive and will come home soon since they do not believe the story that was told to them. The family, she stated, looked for information about her brother’s whereabouts but were unsuccessful.
The family is pleading with anyone with information about Mohanlall’s whereabouts to contact them on telephone numbers 670-2762 or 676-3273 or the nearest Police station.
About two weeks ago, it was reported that 23-year-old Javon John and 39-year-old Macklyn John went missing in May after they never returned to their mining camp in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
The two brothers of Onderneeming Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), had indicted to relatives that they were heading out of the interior to spend time with their mother on Mother’s Day but they were not heard from since.
Their mother, Claire John, believes something is amiss and has been looking for answers for the past three months.
She explained that when she spoke with them, they were heading back to their mining camp and they told her that due to the signal being weak, they would not be able to speak with her frequently but promised to see her on Mother’s Day.
However, the family is pleading with anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two men to contact them. The family can be contacted on telephone numbers 682-6599 or 632-9257.
