GFSCA says “thank you” to sponsors, stakeholders for success of “Guyana Softball Cup 8”
The President and Executive Members of the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors and stakeholders of “Guyana Softball Cup 8” for making the 2018 edition another success.
Some of the entities on board that made this tournament a major success were Stag Beer, Rubis Guyana, Clear Waters, A & R Jiwanram Printery, Ramchand Auto Spares, Trophy Stall, Steve Jewellery, Mike’s Pharmacy, Survival Group of Companies, Busta, Rohan Auto Spares and WJ Enterprise. The tournament also drew the likes of first-time sponsors Nand Persaud and Company under the Karibee Rice Brand, Palm Court Restaurant and Bar on Main Street and Windies Sports Bar of Toronto, Canada.
The GFSCA also recognised the participation of the teams from North America, including for the first time, four teams out of Canada: Ontario Masters, Royal Canadian Masters, Softball Cricket Canada and Ontario Softball Cricket League. Present also were teams from New York such as NYSCL, NY Hustlers, SVC and SVC Spartans, and Orlando Masters while Guyana was represented by our local clubs: Parika Defenders, Floodlights Masters and Floodlights Legends, Farm XI, Regal All Stars and Regal Masters, Albion Masters, Tropical Springs, Fishermen Masters, Invaders Masters, Wellman, NY President’s Eleven, Narine Masters, Ariel Speedboat and Cotton Field Wild Oates.
The executive body would also like to thank Ariel Speedboat, who defended their title for the second time; Regal Masters and Parika Defenders for winning their respective categories and the Demerara female team for defeating their Berbice counterparts. Praise also went out to the caretakers of the DCC, Malteenoes, Enmore, Ogle, Police, GNIC, YMCA, Transport Sports Club and MYO grounds.
