The Public Infrastructure Ministry has procured tenders for a number of road works, in addition to the construction of a rip-rap sea defence at Belle Vue, West Bank Demerara, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), when the Tender Board met at the National Procurement and Tendering Administration (NPTA), Finance Ministry, in Georgetown on Tuesday.
This tender attracted 14 bidders with the Engineer’s estimate reaching the sum of $175,853,850.
A total of 14 bids were opened for the construction of a nursing hostel in the New Amsterdam School of Nursing compound, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
The entity procuring this service is the Public Health Ministry with the Engineer’s estimated cost to construct is $60,136,213.
According to information received from bidders, the hostel is expected to contain 16 self-contained units, inclusive of a toilet and bath. The dimensions of the rooms will be 13 feet by 28 feet.
In addition to the hostel, tenders were also presented for the extension of the School of Nursing building in New Amsterdam.
This expansion attracted 13 bidders with the Engineer’s estimate of $30,488,511.
The Ministry of the Presidency also tendered for rehabilitative works to the Cabinet Room. The engineer’s estimate to complete the rehabilitation was $32,157,250.
