A 24-year-old Kitty, Georgetown resident was on Friday fined after admitting to a threatening language charge.
Terrence Thomas, a bond clerk, appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. The charge detailed that on June 1, 2019, at Lot 137 Lamaha Street, Kitty, Georgetown, he used threatening language towards Keith McKenzie.
Thomas admitted to the charge and explained to the court that he committed the act since the victim, an elderly man, proposed a sexual relationship with him.
“He told me if I deh with he, he gon do all kind of things to me,” the defendant told the court.
The prosecution case revealed that both the defendant and Virtual Complainant reside at the same address but have different dwelling places. It further stated that the duo was on speaking terms but that ended when the defendant’s girlfriend damaged the VC’s property. She was later charged and sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment. This led to bad blood between the duo. Thomas was fined $10,000. Failure to pay the fine will result in him serving two weeks in prison.
