A fifty-eight-year-old West Coast Berbice (WCB) man had his driver’s licence suspended on Tuesday when he appeared at the Blairmont Magistrate Court charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Krishna Sandarson of Lot 14 Cotton Tree Village, WCB, stood before Magistrate Renatta Singh and pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on January 27, 2019, he drove his motorcar while the alcohol level in his system was above the legal limit.
Police stated that on the day in question Sandarson was stopped by Police ranks on patrol and upon recognising his state, they performed a breathalyser test.
In addition to the suspension of his licence, he was fined $7500.
