Veteran golfer Maurice Solomon outplayed some keen competition to emerge winner of the Muneshwers Travel Agency’s 10th Annual golf tournament and return himself in the champion’s seat after a brief absence therefrom.
The Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) Course was again the battlefield for the country’s top golfers, who came out this past Saturday keenly seeking to capture the famous title. In the end, it was the seasoned pro Solomon (66/25) who defeated the lot while capturing the Best Net award.
Other notable performances came from golfers of the calibre of Avinash Persaud (best gross score of 76), Satrohan Tiwari (nearest to the pin), Haresh Tewari (69/18 – 4th best net), Joaan Deo (69/18 – 3rd best net), and Chatterpaul Deo (68/16 –2nd best net). Solomon himself capped off first spot.
Apart from the top guns who managed to steal the spotlight, there were good performances from Ayube Subhan, 71/18; Robert Hanoman (Sponsor), 71/28; Aleem Hussain, 72/11; Kassim Khan, 73/10; Bholawram Deo, 73/18; Persaud, 74/2; Roy Cummings, 74/9; and Parmanand Persaud, 74/12.
Director of Muneshwers Travel Agency, Robert Hanoman, who endured a good day on the greens, congratulated the winners and expressed Muneshwers Travel Agency’s delight that despite the threatening weather, the course and the greens were in fine condition.
