The unrepresented man, in a plea of mitigation told the court, that he was willing to compensate the Virtual Complainant for the injuries sustained.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne informed the court that on November 3, the VC and the defendant were involved in a heated argument over a pair of sunglasses, after which Thompson armed with a cutlass dealt the VC a chop to his right forearm. The VC was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he received medical treatment. Thompson has agreed to compensation of $10,000 to the VC. Failure to pay the compensation will result in him spending four weeks in prison.
