The Guyana Sport Shooting Federation (GSSF) wrapped up their final tournament of 2017 with a bang, following top performances in Saturday’s Steel Challenge, sponsored by Publik Restaurant.
Veteran shooter Ryan McKinnon swept the final match which featured three tough stages namely; Smoke and Hope, Roundabout and Showdown, beating off second and third place winners Pravesh Harry and Rajiv Latchana.
With time the main villain during a Steel Challenge, McKinnon managed to prevail over the rigors of the Challenge’s obstacle course to record an exceptional time of 54.97, almost going down to Harry who finished with 56.78 while Latchana came in third with 71.07.
In the Ladies category featuring just two shooters, GSSF President Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon led the way, completing the three stages with a time of 73.90 compared to her rival in the female division, Alanna Lall shot a time of 305.28.
The Law Enforcement category saw veteran shooter Harold “Top Gun” Hopkinson dominating that category to end with an overall time of 83.38. Meanwhile, the executives of the GSSF sent out season’s greetings to all its members and hoped for continued support in 2018.
