At the end of five weeks of non-stop action in the Smalta U-14 Indoor Hockey Developmental League, St. Stanislaus Hockey Club (SHC) seem to be making full use of their experience to dominate the competition in both male and female categories.
The U-14 league, which is in its first installment, has seen tremendous support from schools and clubs locally with most being based in Georgetown and the games rotated weekly across St. Joseph High School, Marian Academy and St. Stanislaus College. SHC have a commanding advantage with a total of five teams involved while GCC has two in each group. Hikers Club has three with St. Joseph High (SJH) represented by two and Marian Academy and Old Fort having one.
Looking at the table for the girls division, seven teams are participating of which SHC Silencers have dwarfed the competition registering 13 points. To date they have scored 14 goals while their opponents have only managed to penetrate their defence six times.Silencers are trailed by Marian Academy who are on nine points and have scored the most goals in this division with a total of 26 but has allowed 11 goals to be scored on them.
GCC Warriors are in third position with eight points while GCC Challengers and SHC Sensations have accumulated seven points to take the fourth and fifth position respectively. SJH are on four points and ranking sixth while Hikers are yet to get on the board suffering the heaviest tally of goals scored on them with 39 and are unable to score a single goal to date. Meanwhile, with nine teams in the boys group, SHC Scalpels are undefeated after six games with a perfect 18 points, scoring an astonishing 33 times. SJH boys are in a better position than their female counterparts ranking second with 16 points. Hikers Hockey Club (HHC) Garnett Street are currently in third with 14 points as SHC Samurai and SHC Scorchers are on nine points each to rank 4th and 5th. Old Fort, HHC Hatchets, GCC Thunderbolts and GCC War Dogs are ranked 6th-9th in that order.
The action is slated for the St. Stanislaus College from 16:00h on Friday.
