KFC Goodwill Cup 2018…
After tonight’s third and final round of play, the curtains come down on the KFC Goodwill Cup Football tournament, which is being competed between three local school teams and the Shiva Boys Hindu College of Trinidad & Tobago (T&T).
Shiva Boys, the T&T 2016 School League champions, are well placed to lift the cup, having won both matches in which they competed; while Annai Secondary have a slim chance of pulling off an upset: if they can beat Annandale by two or more goals and Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) can defeat the rampaging visitors from the twin-island republic.
Annandale Secondary, the reigning champions of the Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers School League, have lost both matches they played in the competition – against the Linden side and the visitors.
Annai, meanwhile, have lost the opening match of the tournament 3-0 to the Shiva Boys, then outdid the Lindeners by the same scoreline.
This evening’s play will kick off at 16:30hrs with an exhibition match between Queen’s College and Marian Academy, before South Rupununi’s Annai Secondary match skills with Annandale Secondary at 18:00hrs. The feature game between CWSS and Shiva Boys commences at 20:00hrs.
