US, RSS team up with Guyana to boost regional security, police training
The Regional Security System (RSS) has completed a visit to Guyana that is aimed at deepening regional security cooperation and expanding training opportunities with the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the United States.
The visit, supported by the US Embassy in Georgetown and the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), falls under the framework of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, a regional effort that is aimed to enhance security collaboration among Caribbean nations and the United States.

During the engagement, the US Deputy Chief of Mission, Adrienne Galanek, delivered brief remarks that highlighted the strong and ongoing partnership between the United States, the RSS, and the GPF.
Galanek underscored the shared commitment to countering transnational crime, improving public safety, and strengthening the operational capacity of Guyana’s law enforcement agencies.
The collaboration is expected to support Guyana’s efforts to combat organized crime, enhance training for police officers, and foster closer ties between regional security partners.
The RSS, a key security mechanism in the Eastern Caribbean, provides collective responses to security threats and disaster situations, working closely with member states and international partners like the United States.
