Taharally and Peterson impress at GAPLF Claude Charles Memorial

Carlos Petterson was the best lifter at the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) Annual Claude Charles Memorial Intermediate/Masters Powerlifting Competition held on Sunday June 5 at the Critchlow Labour College, Woolford Avenue Georgetown.
The 22 year old lifting in the 93kg Men’s Unequipped category squatted 235lbs, bench pressed 130lbs and dead lifted 280 lbs.

Eighteen year old Romario Gonsalves of Life Gym won the 59kg intermediates Men’s Equipped with 461.36 Wilks points after having best squats of 227.5lbs, best bench press of 87.5 lbs and best dead lift of 217.5lbs.
Orlando Charles was also very impressive in winning the Men’s Equipped Intermediates 74 kg category, his final statistics were squats – 195lbs, bench press – 140lbs and dead lift – 222.5lbs.
NadinaTaharally of Interline Fitness won the Masters and Intermediates while Lisa Oudit and Melissa Tucker of RIP HIT Fitness both won their Women’s individual catergories.
Martin Webster (Masters 93kg), Joseph Stoll (Masters 105kg) Phillip Romalho (Intermediates 83kg), Jason Kellman (Intermediates 66kg) and Jayrold O’Connell (Intermediates 59kg) won their respective category in the Men’s Unequipped.
Frank Tucker won the Masters 105kg Equipped while Derran Harris of Hardcore Barbell Club won the 66kg Intermediates Men’s Equipped with club mate Mohan Parmanand finishing second followed by Arif Immamdeen of Total Fitness Gym.
The event which is an annual fixture for the GAPLF was dubbed a resounding success.
